    Another important metric when calculating profitability.

    Here's how to calculate:
    Find the average inventory at cost.
    Calculate the gross margin of the item.
    Divide the gross margin by the average cost of inventory to get GMROI.
    The result is a ratio indicating the number of times gross margin is earned from the inventory investment.

    Gross Profit or Gross Profit Margin
    In calculating profit on higher ticket items, the gross profit calculation is important to consider. Gross profit margin is an important calculation when costing and running the business on averages.

    The amount of gross profit made when an item is sold.

    Example: A widget bought for $2, which sells for $3, has a margin of 33.3%.
    Margin % = ($ Retail - $ Cost) divided by $ Retail
